Snap: Quiz Battles

Privacy Policy

Snap: Quiz Battles ("Snap," "the app") is built to collect as little data as possible. This policy explains exactly what information the app handles, what leaves your device, and why.

The short version:

1. Who We Are

Snap: Quiz Battles is developed and published by Vector0. If you have any questions about this policy, contact us at vectorxlabs@gmail.com.

2. What Stays on Your Device

Your display name, settings, progress, streaks, XP, level, lifetime accuracy, and the record of which questions you have already seen are stored only on your device (Apple's @AppStorage / UserDefaults). They are never uploaded.

Sign in with Apple (optional). If you tap "Sign in with Apple" from the Profile tab, Apple returns a permanent user identifier and (on first sign-in only) the display name you authorized. Both values are stored only in your device's local storage. Neither is ever transmitted to our servers, and your display name is never shown to other players. Apple itself may log the sign-in event under its own privacy policy — see Apple's Privacy Policy. You can revoke Snap's access at any time from iOS Settings → Apple Account → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Snap.

3. Ghost Battles (Online Feature)

Snap's live battle lobbies match you against "ghosts" — replays of rounds that other real players finished earlier. To make this work, the app uploads a small record to our server after each finished round. That record contains:

This record is shown to other players as a ghost rival in their lobbies, along with an approximate recency label such as "played 2h ago."

About the identifier. The identifier is a random value generated by the app at install time. It is not your hardware ID, advertising ID, or Apple ID, and it cannot be used to identify you or your device. It is hashed before it ever leaves your phone, and it is regenerated if you delete and reinstall the app. We use it only to avoid matching you against your own past rounds and to prevent abuse of the service.

What is never sent. Your name or display name, email address, Apple ID, contacts, location, photos, or any other personal information. Ghost Battles data cannot be linked to you as a person.

4. Data Retention

Ghost round records are automatically deleted from our servers within 90 days of upload. Because the data is anonymous and the identifier resets on reinstall, we have no way to look up which records belong to a specific person — which also means we cannot service individual deletion requests; instead, all records age out automatically.

Local game data persists on your device until you delete the app. To erase all locally stored data, uninstall Snap; iOS will remove its sandbox including all @AppStorage values and your Sign in with Apple credential reference. Reinstalling starts you from a fresh state with a new auto-generated handle and a new random identifier.

5. Service Providers

Ghost Battles data is processed and stored on Cloudflare infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers and D1), acting as our hosting provider. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.

6. No Sale, No Sharing, No Tracking

We do not sell or share your data with anyone. The app contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs, and the gameplay data described above is never used for advertising or tracking of any kind.

7. Children's Privacy

Snap is a general-audience trivia game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. The only data transmitted is the anonymous gameplay data described above. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us at vectorxlabs@gmail.com.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data under laws such as GDPR (European Union) or CCPA (California). Since the only data we collect is anonymous and cannot be linked to you as a person, most of these rights are satisfied by default. If you have questions or requests, contact us at vectorxlabs@gmail.com.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change what data the app collects, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change ships, and call out the change in the App Store release notes for the version that introduces it.
